Shockwave Therapy
Slide – BG

Looking for a non-surgical treatment option to help reduce your pet’s pain and improve his or her mobility? Shockwave therapy might be something to consider!

Shockwave therapy has been used successfully in human medicine for many years. Now, the same benefits of rapid pain relief and restoration of healthy movement without the need for surgery or medications are available to our four-legged friends as well! Hassayampa Veterinary Services is pleased to offer shockwave technology to help heal injured tissue, reduce lameness, increase mobility, and relieve pain in pets.

What is shockwave therapy?

Despite its name, shockwave therapy does not involve the use of any type of electric shock. Instead, it uses high-energy sound waves to penetrate the surface of the body and naturally promote the regeneration of soft tissue, tendons, and bones. Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive and completely painless procedure, yet it can produce noticeable results in just a few treatment sessions.

Benefits of Shockwave Therapy

  • Reduced inflammation and swelling
  • Increased blood flow
  • Improved wound healing
  • Reduced need for pharmaceuticals
  • Minimal to no side effects
  • Non-invasive
  • Short treatment times
  • Quick results

What can shockwave therapy be used to treat?

At Hassayampa Veterinary Services, we routinely use shock wave therapy to treat:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Tendon and ligament injuries
  • Hip and elbow dysplasia
  • Back pain
  • Wounds
  • Shoulder lameness
  • Bone fractures

How do sessions work and how many will my pet need?

Shockwave therapy treatments are quick and easy, typically lasting no more than ten minutes. The number of sessions your pet will require to achieve optimal benefits will depend on a number of unique factors, such as the condition being addressed, its severity, and other considerations. Our experienced team will evaluate your pet’s unique situation and provide you with a customized treatment recommendation.

When we were in Wickenburg camping, our little Havanese ran into a Colla cactus pup. She had needles in her mouth...tongue, lips, gums and hip.We were so fortunate to call Hassayampa Vet Service. Two other vets we contacted we not willing to provide service. We would have had to drive back to Buckeye.Great customer service, care, consideration from the entire staff.Thank you.We highly recommend.

Everyone I've met here is very nice and caring. Reasonable rates. Taking my pets to the vet doesn't put me in the poor house.

We recently had a 14 year old in for an emergency. The staff was wonderful. He is our baby and they were so caring in the midst of all the crying. The doctors were wonderful. They were calm and explained everything. We had to have an emergency visit on a Sunday and got a call back on the emergency line within 15 minutes and met the doctor within an hour. We are new to AZ. We have only been in Wickenburg 8 months. I am so thankful we have found Hassayampa Vet! We have 3 little Yorkies and it's so comforting to know the care they will here, if we need them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care you gave our senior when he was there. He is happy and healed!
